Spring is in the air (well, figuratively speaking still) and my mind is spinning with all kinds of fun ideas. This is the first shoot of sort of a personal project that's pretty much just for my own entertainment - I have hundreds of crazy ideas in the back of my mind, but a lot of hypothetical shoots haven't found the right people yet. But this one did! For the longest time, I've been in love with some of the really creative wedding chuppahs I've seen - some are made out of strings of flowers, or twigs, or ribbons - and I've always wanted to shoot an outdoor wedding that used one. After unsuccessfully trying to talk some couples into using one, I realized that I just liked the way they looked and started coming up with my own ideas :)So one night I was mulling this over while screwing around on Facebook, and I saw a post from Moriah, one of my favorite kindred spirits / clients-turned-friends, and I realized at that instant that she was completely perfect for this shoot and it all sort of fell into place. We ended up wandering around in the frozen woods with tons of clothes and all this random awesome stuff. The light was perfect. It was so windy we almost got knocked out by my homemade chuppah / circus tent a few times when it blew down, but thankfully no injuries... that might be tricky to explain :)
Vintage Ferragamo heels, which I inherited from my amazingly stylish grandmother:
A few shots on the Holga lens... I'm loving this rainbow lens flare! Hmm... I wonder if that's why they don't recommend shooting into the sun...
Thank you so much, Moriah - love you girl! You're amazing :)
