Okay, here comes part three of Chandra & Jeff's epic wedding week - their fabulous reception at the Skyline Ballroom at the Courtyard Mariott in Denver!
I love it when couples hire a photo booth - it means tons of great funky props gradually make their way on to the dance floor :)
This is why I love Chandra.
Thanks again for everything, guys! It's been so wonderful getting to know you :)
You might remember Lindsay & Aaron from their incredible wedding this summer - here are a few of my favorites from their day after / trash the dress session in Salida :)
I LOVE downtown Salida!
Chandra & Jeff might win an award for "couple to have the most fun at their own wedding" - this day was filled with laughter, dancing, family, singing, and pure joy. The view from Chandra's grandparents' house (right on the Arkansas River) was EPIC. The fall sunshine was glorious. I loved this day.
Love the peacock feather boutonnieres. Love the feathered hairpiece. Love the awesome blue shoes.
I love it when couples do a First Look!
So the week before the wedding, they came to BV to take care of some last-minute details. While they were driving into town, they spotted this sweet red Cadillac Eldorado convertible for sale on the side of the road. Chandra showed up at my studio 15 minutes later. "We left him a note on the windshield," she giggled. "Wouldn't it be cool if we could rent the car for the day?" Well, not only was the owner kind enough to let them use the car, he didn't charge them a thing! Maybe it has something to do with my long-standing fetish with old red convertibles, but I think this car made the day that much more perfect :)
Part of me is so used to living in Buena Vista that it's easy to forget how cool and random this place is. No, this is not a museum or tourist spot. Wooden boardwalk and all, these are actual, functional offices:
The ceremony was held on Chandra's grandparent's deck. It was SUPER windy, but I don't think anyone hardly noticed :)
Chandra's brothers walked her down the aisle:
After the ceremony, they headed down to the river where they said their own, private vows to each other. I felt a little bit like a paparazzo getting the following shots (even though they asked me to be there, I hid behind some bushes to let them have their privacy).
Chandra's "something old" and "something borrowed" were two of her grandmother's fur coats - which she definitely needed. It was a chilly fall day!
When Chandra & Jeff first came into town for their consultation, I introduced them to Daughter's (our amazing martini bar). It turned into a bit of tradition, and so it was only fitting that they decided to hold the after-party there. (The saved the full reception for the next week in Denver - you'll see images from the reception and Chandra's trash the dress shoot soon, too!)
Chandra & Jeff - you guys are seriously rad. Thanks for an unforgettable, wonderful day :)
You may remember Sarah & Ross from their sweet springtime engagement session. They recently got married at Mt. Princeton Hot Springs Resort, and although it was quite windy, their day was lovely! I loved Sarah's choice of yellows and grays. Here are a few of my favorites from their wedding :)
I was so thrilled that Sarah & Ross decided to do a First Look! It makes the entire day go so much more smoothly :)
The groomsmen wore some of Ross' old wrestling medals:
I love this shot of Sarah trying to calm her nerves right before the ceremony:
Then the dance floor got CRAAZZYY. The only other people I've met who are able to throw a dance party this good are my friends in BV ... I might just be a little biased :)
Even this little dude got in on it :
Thanks so much, Sarah & Ross! The rest of your images will be ready VERY soon! :)
