. jessie .

So, I totally love this girl.  Jessie is going to be  a senior at Salida High School in the fall, and she is not only gorgeous, but so so cool!  I totally would have been friends with her when I was in high school.  I knew I was going to love her as soon as she showed up to the studio with a big stack of books and told me how much she loves to read.  I was seriously in nerd heaven!  When I found out that she works at her school newspaper, interns at the Salida newspaper, and wants to go into journalism, we did a bunch of fun shots with some brightly-colored newspaper stands... they feel very "Lois Lane" to me.  Yay!  After our shoot, Jessie left me the best Facebook message:

Hey!! That was extremely fun you're so right! I can't tell you how comfortable I was, I told my mom that it was like when you walk in the hospital and your doctor is a girl, it's just one of those reassuring things!

. reilly .

Reilly is going to be a senior in Buena Vista.  She is so photogenic!  Check out these gorgeous eyes.  While we were shooting, she kept saying, "I'm so glad that we're doing something different.  I don't want my pictures to look exactly like everyone else's."  I completely understand!  Honestly, I don't want to shoot the exact same thing day after day.  I think it would start to feel like some lame assembly line.  Reilly - you're wonderful!  And that garage door never opened, no worries ;)reilly1reilly2

. brittany .

This girl is so full of natural beauty!  I don't think she was wearing makeup at all and Brittany was simply, absolutely beautiful.  Cool girl + great hair + cool blackbird tattoos = SWEET senior portaits!  Can I just say, I love when my clients bring ideas my way?  The old black car was all Brittany - great call.  Thanks dude!  I had a ton of fun with you (and thanks for being willing to "not see" a few trespassing signs ;) !brittany 1brittany 2

. moriah's trash the dress session .

Moriah is a junior in Salida, and we had so much fun trashing not one, not two, not three, but four prom dresses this last week!  We talked pretty much non-stop the whole afternoon.  This girl is up for anything (and has some amazingly cute dresses!).  We randomly pulled over to the side of the highway several times, and those ended up being some of my favorite shots!  We also tromped around the Chaffee County Fair getting all kinds of stares from the people in Carhartts and boots - a huge thanks to Carrie for letting us ride her 200- something pound pig.  The fair was so great - what a fun place for a shoot.  Moriah - you are so so cool!  Thanks for the awesome shoot!  And, way to look warm in the river... good job :)moriah 1moriah 2

. lexy .

This girl has been one of my favorites for a long, long time.  I have been lucky enough to shoot her on three separate occasions, and she is so sweet and so photogenic and so graceful and easygoing in front of the camera.  We had such a great time shooting her senior portraits that we decided to make a mini-road trip out of it... so we borrowed her dad's Corvette and had some fun - downing energy drinks to feed our mutual caffeine addiction, comparing phobias, listening to ridiculous music, and driving through a seriously intense downpour.  Lex - I absolutely adore you, but you should already know that.  Too bad you never got to ride the buffalo -and don't forget about the homeless guy's coconut milk! :)Enjoy the hotness that is my lovely Lexy!
