kara & matt engagement session (boulder wedding photographer)

Kara & Matt are two of the sweetest, most easy-to-be-around people ever.  Also, they're full of fun ideas.  And they're both unfairly gorgeous.  I knew I would love these two when Kara mentioned in an email that Matt proposed to her on New Year's... in Bangkok, a place I've spent a ton of time in and is so close to my heart.  We had such a great afternoon traveling from location to location, shooting their engagement photos throughout Denver, joined by the fabulous Keegan from Steele The Spotlight - a master with hair and makeup!  Kara & Matt - congratulations to you both - I'm so happy for you!Also, thank you to Chatfield Botanic Gardens for being so kind and accommodating to us!

I love this series!  We started by the fence, and that horse came over right away to check us out - he ended up giving Kara kisses and nibbling on her hair.  We were cracking up!

lindsey & brad (silverthorne ice castles engagement session)

Although I won't be able to shoot Lindsey & Brad's wedding, I was so excited to shoot their engagement session!  We headed to the Ice Castles in Silverthorne, which is SUCH an amazing place.  These guys met in elementary school, went their separate ways, and reconnected later.  How awesome that they're now getting married!  We had such a gorgeous day of shooting - so thankful for this amazing early spring weather :)

margo & adam (boulder engagement photography)

Margo & Adam are two genuinely wonderful people.  They're getting married at one of my favorite restaurants in Boulder, The Kitchen, and Margo will be walking down the aisle to a Radiohead orchestra cover.  I absolutely love them.

zak & melissa (red rocks engagement session)

I'm so excited to shoot Zak & Melissa's wedding next year ( she has an awesome multi-colored dress, and they're launching the bouquet with a large catapult).  I was just as excited to shoot their nerd-themed engagement session!  They met in the engineering department of the School of Mines, so the nerd theme was pretty appropriate.  I was stoked, and as soon as we met up for the shoot, I was even more stoked to see that Melissa had brought nerdy glasses, a bow tie, and that Zak had graphed a heart for her on her calculator :)  We wandered around the Mines campus, through golden light and piles of crunchy leaves, and the headed to Red Rocks for a few less-nerdy shots.  These guys are SO MUCH FUN and I'm anxiously awaiting their wedding next year!

They picked up the wrong books at first, and opened them up.

"Eew, I hate your major!" Melissa said.

"Yeah, I hate your major too," said Zak.  "Let's switch."

katie & scott (minnesota engagement photographer)

I LOVELOVELOVE getting to travel for shoots - weddings, seniors, engagement sessions - and I'm so grateful to be able to look back over this last year and realize how many awesome places this job has taken me to.  My most recent engagement session in Minnesota was no exception.   Katie and Scott are simply wonderful.  From the minute they picked me up, the three of us chattered nonstop until we reached St. Olaf College, where they met and went to school.  This campus is amazing!  We were even able to sneak into the anatomy lab where they had one of their first classes together.    We also headed to a nearby apple orchard, which was perfectly gorgeous.  Perfect light, perfect fall weather, and fresh apple donuts... what more could you ask for?

Aah!  Katie!  Just... aah!

I LOVE these.  That's all.

It may have been a *little * windy...

I can't WAIT for their wedding in Colorado next summer!  Not only are they fun, kind, and amazingly photogenic, they were wonderful enough to mail my phone back to me when I accidentally left it in the backseat of their car :/
