Trash the Dress! Part One – indoors

When a friend asked me how my “trash the prom dress” session went, I bragged, “Um, I have the best job EVER!”  This is my second time shooting both Lexi (first shoot – modeling portfolio) and Carrie (first shoot – senior portraits) , and after I got home the other evening, I have come to the realization that there are some things that are essential for my blog readers to understand:

1.  How supremely incredibly cool these girls are

2. How amazingly beautiful they are as well

3.  How comfortable they are in front of the camera

4. How much I love them both

5.  How much freaking fun we had!

For those of you who are not familiar with the “trash the dress” phenomenon, let me do a little bit of explaining.  It started with a wedding photographer ( I think in Vegas?) wanting to do something nontraditional for his braver clients who wanted to have fun with this really expensive dress that they never plan to wear again… so he set a bride on fire, movie-set style, and wound up on the cover of a magazine.    I promise I didn’t set anyone on fire (despite my well-known pyro tendencies) and we didn’t completely TRASH the dresses -nothing that a little bit of dry-cleaning won’t fix, right ?  Let me also mention that Carrie was on crutches with a bruised, nastily-sprained ankle, and for some reason, she listened to me when I had her put on high heels, crawling under cars, and catching hypothermia in the river at sunset.  What a girl!

L & C – I’m so glad you guys trust me.  It was all totally worth it!

Part One : the indoor shoot took place in the garage at Comfurt Gas (thanks, Mr. Crane)
